Architect for Vocational Workshops
Fort Houston has since relocated from their original location. The Use and Occupancy change in the now WeHo neighborhood was completed by CMArchitects David Grisham in 2013.
When existing buildings are renovated to inhabit educational spaces, the community becomes stronger. This is true for children grades K-12 as well as adults. Communities as a whole benefit from neighbors being involved and active.
Fort Houston was a unique educational experience because of the activities that the building accommodated. Over 6,000 square feet of work space, studios and a wood shop establish a learning environment that is rich with experimentation and tactical learning. CMArchitects provided codes analysis and minor renovation plans for the owners.
CMArchitects feels that vocational skills can be harnessed creatively to develop innovation. Having the opportunity to assist Fort Houston with their initiatives was very rewarding.
