The Nemours Foundation is a non-profit organization in Jacksonville, Florida, created by philanthropist Alfred I. du Pont in 1936, and dedicated to improving the health of children. Thomas Carnell, Steve Klien and Bill Jordan collaborated to plan and design the Nemours Children’s Clinic while working at GS&P. It is a high-rise building that provides clinical care on every other floor with private physicians’ offices on the floors between. This design allows doctors to work in partnership with each other on complicated diagnostics. Their medical, academic and research collaborations are known for world-renowned treatments.
The Nemours Foundation mission is “To provide leadership, institutions, and services to restore and improve the health of children through care and programs not readily available, with one high standard of quality and distinction, regardless of the recipient’s financial status.”
