Project Location:  Giles County, Tennessee

Project Size:  14,440 sq. ft.

CMArchitects worked with the Owner to provide architectural design services for a new building initially composed of a museum, learning center, and office space. CMA developed the layout and flow of museum space; sizing the spaces around the types and allocations for a variety of installations of exhibits. Our goal was to design exhibit spaces that connect the interior of the building to the exterior landscape while allowing the exhibit space to be the primary focus of the building.

CMArchitects used sustainable design techniques that integrate the building to the landscape. Water conservation, native vegetation and connections from interior to exterior will highlight and educate the sustainable design aspects. The building will be strategically oriented for passive design techniques combined with an efficient mechanical system to reduce energy demands. Lighting will be LED throughout, with special display lighting at exhibit spaces.
