Home and Care for Seniors in a Traditional Neighborhood Development
Suburban buildings are freestanding in space. Urban buildings are often shapers of space. When we create buildings today, we frequently focus our efforts on their shapes, however urban buildings have the opportunity to shape the exterior space to create plazas, courtyards, and squares that abut the buildings.
Engaged by Astylar Development to create a multi-level care facility in a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) whose vernacular is based in Greek revival. This building creates street borders by fronting on sidewalks that are buffered by a ten foot greenway adjacent to the street. The building is designed to create an interior courtyard that is surrounded by rooms on three side and provides expansion of a forth side that would completely enclosed the courtyard.
CMArchitects has experience working with owner operators for senior care, assisted living and aging in place communities. We have pro forma tools that estimate construction budgets based on number of beds, type of care needed and desires of the target market like access to amenities.
